Overview

Scott Yancey and his wife, interior designer Amie Yancey, bought a low-cost house in Las Vegas Valley through their real estate broker, Goliath Company. The houses are then renovated with low budgets and fast schedules to be sold as soon as possible, a process known as flipping.

Many of the houses featured on the series are presented as having been tampered with or not maintained by previous tenants, and thus require clean or expensive repairs. Scott wants to spend as little money as possible in every home to get maximum profit. However, Amie is very interested in her design choices and often makes expensive purchases on un-budgeted upgrades, and often does so without telling Scott, which upsets her. Scott usually disagrees with Amie's belief that such an increase helps sell the house.

In several episodes, Scott has a project manager who oversees renovations for him. Due to different types of delays, the workers usually struggle to get every home done on time for an open house event, where one of Scott's real estate agents provides a tour of the property to potential buyers. In each episode, Scott, Amie, and others talk to viewers through interview clips to provide information and opinions about each other and about the properties featured in the episode.

Production

Regarding the origin of the show, Scott Yancey said: "I was from the Hollywood area initially, and I was talking to some friends who were in the industry.I told them how I had to pull my Glock out on some homeless people who came with a needle in one of the houses which are all closed in. They're like, 'Man, you need your own reality show. We'll make it like an advertisement for your website or something.' So I paid their fees, and they gave it to our other friend, who gave it to a man working at Lionsgate. "

The series filmed its pilot in 2009, titled Last House Standing . The second season finished filming in April 2012. In November 2013, the show filmed the fifth season. Approximately 120 to 140 hours of recording were taken for each episode, which was then edited to 43 minutes. Scott Yancey said, "The worst houses to buy are those we tube for TV because we know there's a good storyline with him".

Regarding the greatest misunderstanding viewers may have about the show, Scott Yancey said, "What people are seeing is that we emphasize in a house in an episode. What they do not see is we do five people at the same time..] TV shows are usually edited in dramas They do not see that an hour from now, we'll hold hands with our dog somewhere They edit it in a way that will obviously be very entertaining Show me say 'thank you, good work' to someone or show us off to the restaurant in the evening or in the summer on the beach. "Amie Yancey said," The main thing is on the TV land, they speed things up, they [the audience] think, 'Oh, wow, that's easy. Â € <â €
