Bass River is an estuary and village in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, United States. Muara separates the towns of Yarmouth and Dennis in the center and south of the city. At its widest and southernmost point, it opens up and meets Nantucket Sound. Its bronze northwest end flows into the Follins Pond, from which it winds north as a river, to Mill Pond, then an underground stream almost bordering Cape Cod.

The mouth of the river is between Smugglers Beach on the side of Yarmouth and West Dennis Beach on the Dennis side. West Dennis Beach has been a popular site for kite kites in recent years. In the same way, Kalmus Beach in Hyannis has become popular for windsurfing. Once inside the river, there is a large land covered with seaweed in the middle which is a big bay. The island is called 'Island Marsh' by the locals.

Marsh Island separates the Bass River into two parts. The right side of the river, referred to as 'Old Field Channel' to West Dennis and Fingers development. The left side is the river's main channel passing through Windmill Beach, the Bass River Yacht Club, the Ship Shops Marina, and the prestigious Bass River Marina and Yacht Club. After the marina, the river runs under Rout 28 bridge and winds 5 miles deeper into the headland. Bass River was once considered a viable location for the canal that crosses Cape Cod and is the largest river that spans the Mid-Cape Highway.

Bass River is home to friendly rivalry between West Dennis Yacht Club and Bass River Yacht Club. These clubs also compete against Hyannis Yacht Club, Wianno Yacht Club, and others at the circuit circuit of the South Massachusetts Sailing Association. Yarmouth Beach is home to the Bass River Golf Course, which is owned and operated by the city of Yarmouth.

There is another Bass River in Beverly City.
