Hair stripping is a chemical process that involves the application of sulfur-based products to the hair to remove the deposited color. The stripper's hair dye increases the sulfite content to make hair more porous and reverses the oxidation of color molecules. It breaks the dyestuff bonds form between each other and the hair shaft formed by oxidizing the small hair color intermediates, shrinking the molecules and allowing the hair color to be washed out of the hair. Due to the chemical nature of hair strippers, they are effective in newly dyed hair and older dyes.
Note that this type of color correction is not effective in hair that is lightened with hydrogen peroxide, because hair bleaching is an irreversible chemical reaction that oxidizes the hair melanin, which effectively makes it colorless. Most color pouring dyes use a weak hydrogen peroxide-based developer, or oxidizer, so the results may not match the natural hair color.

Note for usage
It is advisable to follow the color removal with clear filler before trying to color the hair again because the hair will be more porous and re-colored hair can be darker and faster. In addition, hair stripping products often have a strong odor and linger reminiscent of rotting eggs due to its sulfur properties.
Caution
Stripper hair dye contains chemical irritants. Avoid direct skin contact and use in well-ventilated areas.
